The Tunisian-Senegalese Economic Forum kicked off Wednesday in Dakar (Senegal) under the theme “Towards a Sustainable Partnership”.

Some 40 companies operating in several business sectors (agro-food, mechanical and electrical, health, education, infrastructure, vocational training, communication technologies…) and senior officials of the Senegalese government are taking part in this forum, the Industry and Small- and Medium-Sized enterprises Ministry said in a press release.

This event is organised by the Tunisia-Africa Business Council (TABC), in association with the Tunisian-Senegalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (French: CTSCI).

It aims to bring Tunisian and Senegalese economic communities in the public and private sectors closer and to step up co-operation and exchange of expertise between manufacturers and investors from both countries.

Speaking on this occasion, Minister of Industry and SME Slim Feriani highlighted the need to implement a long-term south-south co-operation strategy so as to consolidate the economic growth and increase trade between Tunisia and Senegal.
