The Tunisian-Chinese Economic Forum is set for May 15 at the seat of the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (French: UTICA).

The agenda of the event, initiated by the two countries’ business council, includes

targeted networking meetings and a presentation of economic and business cooperation projects by China’s new ambassador to Tunisia Wang Wenbin.

China’s investments and funding in Africa will also be outlined by Economic and Commercial Counsellor at China’s embassy Zhang Fengling.

China Import Expo, slated for November 5-10 in Shanghai, will be put in the spotlight. The event offers the Tunisian firms the opportunity to access the Chinese market.

A Tunisian-Chinese Business Council delegation participated recently in Beijing in a series of events, mainly the Belt and Road Trade and Investment Forum.

The Tunisian delegation met with the Chinese members of the business council as well as with many businessmen wishing to invest in Tunisia or import such products as olive oil.

This council, coming under UTICA, was created in order to bring Tunisian and Chinese economic operators in the public and private sectors closer and step up cooperation and the exchange of expertise between industrialists and investors.
