The Tunisia-Kuwait Business Council, set up in April, will shortly set in motion a string of economic and cultural cooperation projects and programmes, said Cochair Fahd Al Moajjal as he met Friday with President of the Republic Béji Caïd Essebsi.
The President Friday received a delegation of Kuwaiti businessmen led by Al Moajjal, said a Presidency press release. The meeting was attended by Fathi Hachicha, Cochair of the council from the Tunisian side.
The Kuwaiti delegation laid emphasis on the importance of making the most of cooperation opportunities offered by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) and the need to improve the business environment in Tunisia and focus on the promotion of investment opportunities and projects.
The President highlighted the key role of the private sector in promoting economic relations between Tunisia and Kuwait and reminded of the latter’s achievements in the sector of tourism which stand as a successful model of Arab investments in Tunisia.
Caid Essebsi lauded the initiative to create this council which is meant to strengthen the cooperation process between Tunisia and Kuwait.
A better business environment in Tunisia is a priority to boost growth and improve economic performance, said the President of the Republic, urging businessmen to table proposals to overcome difficulties facing investment.
