The production of El Sharara oil field has reached about 260 thousand barrels per day on Wednesday, a field engineer told Reuters.

The engineer explained that the recovery came after the restart of the control station 186, Sunday, which was closed because of the abduction of 4 workers.

The engineer, who hasn’t been identified, said that the production of the station amounted to 50 thousand barrels per day, which is equivalent to about half of its normal rate.

Sharara oil field’s production amount to about 300,000 barrels per day, before falling to125 thousand barrels per day, after the kidnapping of four of its employees last month, two of them were released later.
