Three Tunisian enterprises will take part in the 1st edition of Shanghai Expo: China International Import Expo, November 5-10 in Shanghai, said Dhouha Mizouni Vice-President of the Tunisian-Chinese Business Council (CATC) stemming from the Tunisian Confederation of Trade, Industry and Handicrafts (UTICA).

She pointed out a statement to TAP, on the fringes of her participation in the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (September 3-4) that the participating enterprises are specialised in olive oil and handicrafts.

With a view to reinforcing this modest Tunisian participation in this event, the CATC ensured the participation of the largest number of sectors with a delegation of about 10 enterprises. The objective is to help businessmen familiarise with the Chinese market’s needs and the products exported by European and American countries to this market.

For his part, Tunisia’s ambassador in Beijing Dhia Khaled laid emphasis on the importance of this fair to promote the Tunisian product, inform the Tunisian exporter of the Chinese market and establish partnerships between Tunisian and Chinese businessmen in order to open up new prospects for exports to this large-potential market.

The China International Import Expo is part of the “Belt and Road” initiative that Tunisia officially joined in July.
