Senior Vice President and Chairman of Africa Middle East India Region of NISSAN Group Peyman Kargar announced Monday that his group will start manufacturing Pick-Ups in Tunisia in March 2019. .
Following his meeting with Minister of Industry and Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs), in charge of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, Slim Feriani and CEO of the group Mzabi, Moncef Mzabi, Chairman of Africa Middle East India Region of NISSAN Group stressed that “this project, which will cost $ 33 million and will be completed in two stages in partnership with the Mzabi group, will create 500 jobs”.
For his part, Feriani emphasised the importance of the automotive sector and the automotive components industry in the country, recalling that “Tunisia is the second largest exporter to Europe in this field”.
The minister also outlined the government’s main orientations to promote the business climate and to diversify Tunisia’s economic and commercial partners.
The Japanese company Nissan, counts among the main automobile groups in the world.
