The export revenues from organic dates (October 1, 2017 – September 10, 2018) edged up 52% in value and 31% in quantities, compared to the past season.
Quantities of exported organic dates reached 10,089 tons, against 7,717 tons during the same period of the last season, according to data of published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries on Thursday.
The latter explained this growth by the rise in the quantities exported to Germany by 20% and those to the United States by 60%.
The Spanish market posted a strong growth in its imports of Tunisian dates with a rise of 568%. Indeed, until September 10, 2018, about 208 tons of organic dates were exported to Spain against 31 tons during the same period of the last year.
Imports to the Canadian market climbed by 141%, thanks to a volume of exports of nearly 565 tons against 234 tons during the same period last year.
