The establishment of a new executive programme to boost industrial exports for the years 2019-2020, relating to the memorandum of understanding, signed between the Tunisian Export Promotion Centre (CEPEX) and its Kuwaiti counterpart is the main recommendation resulting from the 6th session of the Tunisian-Kuwaiti technical trade committee
The meeting of the committee, whose work was suspended since 2012, was chaired by Secretary of State for Foreign Trade Hichem Ben Ahmed and Kuwaiti Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Dr. Khalid Ali Fadel who stressed the need to increase the volume of bilateral trade and carry out investment projects, through encouraging the private sector and entrepreneurship, organising economic conferences and intensifying visits, the Ministry of Trade said in a statement Tuesday.
The volume of trade between Tunisia and Kuwait remains low, i.e. only 13 million dollars recorded during the first 7 months of 2017,
It was therefore decided to set up joint working teams between the two countries to undertake the examination of this issue and the implementation of the memorandum of cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry in the two countries, as well as the preparation of a report on the agreements to be signed between the two parties in the future.
