The Perenco oil company which made several investments with the Tunisian Company of Petroleum Activities (ETAP) reached 600 million dinars (MD), intends to invest 20 MD in 2018.

This amount will help upgrade several fields and drilling two wells in Begel, announced the Ministry of Industry and SMEs in a press release.

Perenco acquired all the shares of Petrofac (45%) in the Chergui concession in Kerkennah.

During a meeting held on Friday with Industry and SMEs Minister Slim Fériani, officials of the two oil companies Roy Armishaw and Yves Postec, respectively, discussed the formalisation of the transfer of Petrofac Tunisia’s rights and commitments in the Chergui concession, following the agreement of the Advisory Committee on Hydrocarbons in its meeting No. 120 dating back to July 23, 2018.

Perenco is present in 13 countries and produces 450,000 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) per day. It employs 4,000 workers.
